Le Sourire de Chiang Khong

Thailand (Children's home in the province of Chiang Rai, 2013/2014/2016)

The charitable Swiss association Le Sourire de Chiang Khong founded a home with the name "Le Sourire" in the province of Chiang Rai for 180 children from particularly impoverished areas of Thailand. At "Le Sourire" the children are provided with food, are looked after and they have direct access to a school education. The home is available for children at the age of six years up to their final school education. With Hartmut and Ilse Schneider Foundation's financial support, new communal showers and toilets were built in 2013, as well as laundry facilities in 2014. Because the number of adopted children has risen during the last years, the construction of a dinning room and a kitchen became necessary which was again supported by Hartmut and Ilse Schneider Foundation by financing a new building for up to 250 children.

Starkids Foundation

Bali/Indonesia (Children's home Surya Indra, 2014/ 2016/2019/2020)

Myanmar Foundation

Myanmar (Ferdi Home Boarding School, 2014-2020)

The Myanmar Foundation aims to support children and public healthcare with a sustainable effect. One serious structural problem in the high school system of Myanmar is the fact that no high school student is able to pass university entrance examination without extensive private tuition. In order to enable poor children and children from social institutions in remote areas to participate in extra tuition during the last two years of high school, Myanmar Foundation invites girls and boys to their own and newly built Ferdi Home Boarding School in Nyaung U Township in Bagan, Myanmar. Hartmut and Ilse Schneider Foundation has financed scholarships for the years 2014 and 2015 for 30 children and has supported additional renovation works for showers, toilets and a new building of the boys accommodation in 2015. Because of politically motivated circumstances in the following year, 40 additional students had to be taken in and flooding led to a financial burden and expenses, which Hartmut and Ilse Schneider Foundation carried by means of continued funding in 2016.

Child's dream foundation

Thailand (Children Medical Fund, 2015-2020)

Migrants and their children who urgently need lifesaving medical treatment cannot afford the required urgent surgeries in most cases and often cannot benefit from surgeries provided by the Thai health-care system, even if they are crucial to secure survival.
For this reason, Child's Dream Foundation set up a medical fund to financially support children with special medical needs. Hartmut and Ilse Schneider Foundation supports this project so that children have access to the necessary medical treatments and surgeries.

Thailand (High School in Chiang Mai, 2012/2014/2015/2016/2017/2018/2019/2020)

Hartmut and Ilse Schneider Foundation supports 25-35 students from Thailand with scholarships to continue education at high school level and to support them in pursuing a college education. The scholarships fully cover school fees, living costs and costs for school material. Completing college education is fundamental for teenagers in order to have access to more opportunities and to pursue university education and ultimately find employment.

Thailand (Thai Raj Kiri Secondary School, 2013)

The school is located in the Tak Province, in the northwestern region of Thailand. It plays a fundamental role for migrant children from Myanmar as it provides basic education that ranges from kindergarten up to secondary grade. The school provides such education to more than 850 children in the area. In order to give Myanmar migrant students the possibility to access sustainable basic education Hartmut and Ilse Schneider Foundation has supported this Child's Dream project financially for the construction of a new school building with five classrooms, including the required furniture for the new classrooms.

Laos (Hin Siu Lower Secondary School, 2013)

Hin Siu Lower Secondary School is located in a small village in southern Laos. The school building was in a very poor state and there was no government budget available for the construction of a new building. To underline the importance of education to the children and make them attend and be proud of learning, Hartmut and Ilse Schneider Foundation has supported the school by constructing a new building with five furnished classrooms and two toilet blocks.

Thailand (Boarding House in Au-Toom, 2012/ 2013)

Au-Toom Secondary School is a Thai Government School in a mountain terrain of northern Thailand, providing basic education for 297 students from kindergarten up to secondary level 3. Providing accommodation to students plays a fundamental role as many students live in remote villages and boarding facilities become essential. In order to allow more children to attend school and to improve the poor boarding house conditions, Hartmut and Ilse Schneider Foundation has supported the renovation of the current girls boarding facilities and the building of a new boarding house for girls.
